According to the Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan in 2024 in our country and abroad, the 300th birthday anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi is widely celebrated. It gives a new impulse to study of his invaluable philosophic-poetic heritage, which has entered into the golden treasury of world literature.
Declaration of this year by the International Organisation of Turkic culture (TURKSOY) as «Year of the great poet and thinker of the Turkic world - Magtymguly Fragi», inclusion of a collection of his manuscripts in the UNESCO Memory of the World Register as well as the 300th birthday anniversary of the outstanding master of poetry in the list of memorable dates in the celebration of UNESCO for 2024-2025 List of significant dates, which will be marked together with UNESCO in 2024-2025, attested to the international recognition of heritage of the Turkmen classic.
With a view of augmentation of glory and international authority of our native land, study and popularisation of life and creativity of Magtymguly in the world as well as proceeding from the poem by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan devoted to Magtymguly Fragi, 2024 passes under the motto «The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi», the content and the main idea of which is called to uplift the patriotic spirit, to promote education of the youth and to inspire Turkmen nationals into new achievements.
In this connection, our country hosts various events with participation of numerous visitors. So, for 6 months of this year, Turkmenistan hosted the International Olympiads in higher educational schools, creative and agitation-explanatory events, briefings, media forums, seminars, exhibitions, scientific-practical conferences, song-music events.
In honour of the 300th birthday anniversary of outstanding poet and thinker, the monument to Magtymguly and a new cultural-park complex «Magtymguly Pyragy» were opened in the southern part of the Turkmen capital.
It is necessary to note that on the occasion of declaration of the motto of this year «The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi» and anniversary of the poet-classic of the East, various meetings and forums are held not only in our country, but also abroad.
The outstanding poet, who dreamt of peaceful life and happy life of Turkmen people, left a huge poetic heritage filled with wisdom and warm feelings. Deep judgement in his remarkable poems on the future, love for the country, humanism, peaceful disposition, call to creation, friendship and brotherhood answer spiritual needs of not only Turkmen people, but also of all mankind.
These principles make up a basis of maintenance of neutrality of Turkmenistan and continue to be a source of wisdom, succession and topicality of diplomatic mission of our country. In the given context, friendly states bring a contribution to organisation and conduction of international events on the occasion of the 300th birthday anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi by taking an active part in them.
So, international scientific conferences, seminars and lectures in secondary and higher educational schools, thematic meetings, briefings, «round tables», displays of films, exhibitions, concerts devoted to the motto of the year in our country «The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi» and to the 300th birthday anniversary of the great thinker were organized, in the embassies and consulates of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Turkiye, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Republic of Uzbekistan, the Kirghiz Republic, Republic of Korea, Georgia, the Russian Federation, Republic of Armenia, Romania, Republic of Kazakhstan, Teheran (Islamic Republic of Iran), Japan, the Austrian Republic, France, the United Arab Emirates, Great Britain, Afghanistan, Republic of Tajikistan in January-August.
In particular, on January 5, the embassy of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Turkiye organised the international scientific conference at which, it was underlined how widely the 300th birthday anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi in our country and abroad is marked and it attests to an acknowledgement of recognition of creativity of the great poet and thinker of the East at world level.
The thematic meeting, which was held on January 16, in the embassy of Turkmenistan in Azerbaijan, was concluded with the documentary film display «Hakyň guly - Magtymguly», made in Baku city by the «Türkmenfilm» Association named after Oguz Han.
The embassy of our country in Georgia organised on January 23 «a round table», devoted to the motto of the year «The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi». Participants of the meeting underlined that events planned for the anniversary of the poet promote further study and wide popularisation of the richest literary heritage of Magtymguly - outstanding master of poetry word and thinker in the world.
The embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine also held a creative evening, in which poems were recited and vocal compositions on verses by Arkadag «The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi» band Magtymguly in Turkmen and Ukrainian languages were performed on January 23 of this year. The event was completed with the show of the film «Magtymguly» of the life of the great poet.
Participants of the thematic briefings organised on January 25 in the embassies of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Kirghiz Republic stated a special importance of creative heritage of Magtymguly, which has become an integral part of treasury of world culture.
At the meeting, which took place on January 29 of this year in the embassy of Turkmenistan in Romania it was pointed out that today the creativity of Magtymguly Fragi is widely popular in the world, his fine poems are translated into tens of languages, including into the Romanian.
The event organised on January 30 in the city of Moscow by the embassy of our country in the Russian Federation on the occasion of the 300th birthday anniversary of the classic of Turkmen poetry and thinker of the East, was accompanied by the video clip of achievements of modern Turkmenistan. Our students educated in the Russian higher educational schools, recited patriotic poems of Magtymguly.
On February 3, the embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Korea hosted a meeting devoted to the motto of the year in our country «The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi» in which, a great significance of the creative heritage of the great poet, which calls the mankind to unification and humanism, for the world literature and culture was underlined.
The embassy of our country in the Russian Federation organised a creative meeting on the occasion of the 300th birthday anniversary of the classic of Turkmen poetry and outstanding thinker of the East Magtymguly Fragi on February 8 of this year in the city of St.-Petersburg. Among forthcoming large events - opening of the monument to Magtymguly in St.-Petersburg, international scientific conferences and «round tables» in Moscow, Kazan, Astrakhan, Voronezh and in other cities of Russia.
The embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Armenia and the Union of Artists of Armenia held in Yerevan the photo-exhibition devoted to the motto of 2024 in our country «The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi» and also to the 300th birthday anniversary of the great master of poetry on February 13-14t.
During the international conference and an exhibition «Magtymguly Fragi - Turkmen enlightener, thinker and poet of the world», organised by the embassy of Turkmenistan held on February 15-25 in the national library of Romania a video clip of the life and works of Magtymguly and a documentary film of achievements of our country, prepared by the Romanian national television ere shown. Students recited poems of Fragi in different languages.
Lectures held on February 20 for students of the faculty of oriental studies of the Yerevan state university on the theme «Philosophical heritage of Magtymguly - a basis of the external doctrine of Turkmenistan» noted that in poetry of the poet the call to unity, brotherhood, honouring national customs, traditions and cultural wealth, to humanism, love for the country and justice sounds.
On February 23, in the building of the consulate of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Kazakhstan (city of Aktau) a briefing devoted to the motto of the year in our country «The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi» and to the 300th birthday anniversary of the outstanding Turkmen poet-thinker was held.
On February 26, within the celebration of the 300th birthday anniversary of the poet and thinker of the East Magtymguly, the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN Office in Geneva installed a special banner in the building of the Palais des Nations in Geneva with a QR code containing a link to extended information about the life of the great son of the Turkmen people.
On March 4, the embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine together with the library named after Magtymguly based in 1969 in Kiev carries out a cultural-poetic action «The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi». Schoolchildren and teachers, ensembles of the Kiev secondary and children's music schools performed vocal compositions on verses of Magtymguly and Mollanepes as well as recited them in Turkmen and Ukrainian languages.
On March 11-12, at the Yerevan state university, the international scientific-methodological conference, literary readings and the lecture, devoted to the life and works of Magtymguly Fragi took place.
On March 12 and 16, the embassy of Turkmenistan with assistance of the Institute of Culture of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) in Teheran (Islamic Republic of Iran) organised a solemn action and exhibition on the occasion of the birthday of the great poet and thinker.
On March 13, with assistance of the embassy of Turkmenistan in the Austrian Republic in the Viennese diplomatic academy the international scientific conference «The heritage of Magtymguly Fragi and Turkmen culture in Europe» took place.
On March 15 of the current year, within the international celebration of the 300th birthday anniversary of Magtymguly, a series of educational sessions and an exhibition dedicated to the life and work of the poet and his contribution to the national heritage were held at the capital university Tsukuba and Higashiosaka high school at the initiative of the embassy of Turkmenistan in Japan.
On March 19, in the Palace of the Nations, the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN Office in Geneva, the cultural action devoted to the 300th birthday anniversary of great poet-thinker Magtymguly Fragi and exhibition of works of national arts and crafts were held.
The embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Korea and Republic of Singapore held a lecture for students of the Singapore Institute of Development of Management on the occasion of the anniversary of Magtymguly on March 20.
That very day, the embassy of Turkmenistan in the People’s Republic of China a solemn reception on the occasion of the motto of 2024 in our country «The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi» and the 300th birthday anniversary of the great thinker of the East took place.
on March 21, the Lipetsk regional organization of the all-Russian public organization "Union of Writers of Russia" together with the Presidential Academy of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) and with the support of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation organized and held online the International Scientific Conference "The Influence of Magtymguly Fragi" on Russian literature" dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the classic of Turkmen literature and thinker of the East Magtymguly Fragi.
The creative event on the occasion of the 300th birthday anniversary of the outstanding Turkmen figure, organised by the embassy of our country in France, was also held in Maisons-Laffitte.
Besides it, within the celebration of the anniversary of the great poet-thinker of the East, in April-June, the embassy of Turkmenistan to the USA together with the Permanent mission of our country at the United Nations in Washington held literary evenings, exhibitions, presentation of stamps, chess and football tournaments, mass bicycle race.
At the same time, the sports actions organised by diplomatic representatives of our country abroad, were held in Romania, Armenia, Great Britain, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Georgia, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, Germany, Kazakhstan, France, and India.
In May-June of this year, embassies of Turkmenistan in Turkey and Ukraine organised flower-laying ceremonies at the monument to the outstanding master of poetry Magtymguly timed to Day of workers of art and culture as well as poetry of Magtymguly Fragi. In particular, solemn actions took place in the central park "Chopanoglu" in the city of Yozgat and park "Turkmenistan" in Ankara (Turkiye), as well as in Kiev (Ukraine).
As known, monuments to the Turkmen poet-classic were installed in Russia, Turkey, Iran, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and other countries, including in the village of Edelbay in the Blagodarnensky District of the Stavropol region of the Russian Federation, in Astrakhan, Kiev, Khiva and Tashkent cities. The opening ceremony of the monument to Magtymguly Fragi took place in Astana (Republic of Kazakhstan) on July 4.
On July 13-14, the consulate general of our country in Kazan organised a celebration on the occasion of the 300th birthday anniversary of great Turkmen poet Magtymguly. The master class on preparation of Turkmen national dishes was held.
It is necessary to note that conceptual bases of foreign policy of Turkmenistan are characterised as display of high ideals, which were promoted in due time by Magtymguly Fragi. His dreams and idea are conformable with transformations of the Era of Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State, carried out under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Thus, the events devoted to the outstanding classic of Turkmen literature are called to increase its glory, to promote wider acquaintance of world community with creativity of Magtymguly, discovery of depth and uniqueness of talent of Fragi and as a whole, the strengthening of humanitarian dialogue, friendship and mutual understanding relations between the people that is an important factor of promotion of culture of peace and trust on the planet.
