The State Russian Drama Theatre named after A.S. Pushkin hosted with great success the premiere of the play "The Lizard", based on the work of Alexander Volodin. The premiere was held to a full house.

The main themes of the play "The Lizard" include patriotism, the beginnings of diplomacy, intelligence, love, and a lack of tolerance for foreign cultures. A young girl named Lizard cunningly infiltrates a tribe that possesses the most powerful weapon of the time—bows and arrows. Her mission is to uncover the secret of making bows and arrows. She encounters many innovations, leading to a series of amusing episodes that bring smiles to the audience's faces.

The director, People's Artist of Turkmenistan Kakajan Ashirov, cast actress Ailar Bayramova, known for her princess roles, as the main character. The choice of Begench Ishangulyev for the role of Lizard's captor was unquestioned.

Alexander Volodin's play "The Lizard" frequently appears on stage, challenging costume designers to dress actors in stone-age attire elegantly. Keyik Bayramova successfully met this challenge.

The audience warmly applauded the theater's creative team. This captivating story of wild tribes offers much to laugh about and reflect on through its allegories to modern times.
