Recently, the Centre for Public Organizations of Turkmenistan hosted an award ceremony for the winners of the competition entitled «Müň parasat, müň many, köňülleriň çyragy – Pähim-paýhas ummany Magtymguly Pyragy», dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the outstanding Turkmen poet and philosopher Magtymguly Fragi.
The competition was organized by the editorial board of the literary magazine «Garagum» together with the Central Council of the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Magtymguly with the aim of stimulating the creative activity of young people, inspiring aspiring poets and writers to create works dedicated to the life and work of the poet, his brilliant ideas, the universal values of patriotism and humanism proclaimed in his works.
In Turkmenistan, where youth policy is aimed at raising a highly educated, physically and intellectually developed young generation, special importance is attached to introducing young people to national traditions, moral and spiritual values, a rich cultural heritage, in which a special place belongs to the work of the great Magtymguly. And creative youth draws inspiration from the vast poetic and philosophical world of the classic poet, revealing in their works the features of a modern happy epoch, the commitment of an independent Fatherland to a policy of peacefulness, friendship and cooperation. In the works submitted to the competition, admiration for the wisdom of Magtymguly, whose works live for centuries, was expressed through artistic words.
According to the terms of the competition, the works were assessed based on the modernity of the content and the skill of artistic expression, genre features, taking into account which the best were selected among the poems, stories and other works of young authors. Following the results of the competition, the winners were announced, who were solemnly awarded Certificates of Honour of the Central Council of the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Magtymguly and memorable gifts, the authors of the distinguished works were awarded incentive prizes.
