On September 12, a panel discussion titled "Cinema of the CIS Countries: Common Past, Sovereign Present, Multipolar Future" took place at the St. Petersburg Forum United Cultures.

The dialogue featured Sakhysalykh Bayramov, Deputy Chairman for Creative Affairs of the Oguzhan Turkmenfilm Association, along with other prominent figures from the film industry, including Fyodor Sosnov, Director of the Cinema Foundation; Ayaz Salaev, Deputy Director of the State Film Fund of Azerbaijan; Yuri Aleksey, General Director of the National Film Studio "Belarusfilm"; Taalaibek Kulmendeev, Chairman of the Union of Cinematographers of the Kyrgyz Republic; and Vardan Abovyan, Deputy Director of the National Cinema Center of Armenia.

During the meeting, experts discussed the spiritual aspects of modern cinema and the prospects for deepening cooperation in film production, including increasing joint projects. An initiative to create a fund for financing joint film projects among CIS countries was also mentioned.

The event was part of the thematic section "Theater," curated by Evgeny Mironov, Artistic Director of the State Theater of Nations, with actor Milosh Bikovich serving as the moderator.

Turkmen cinematography is actively functioning and encompasses a variety of genres, allowing the country to present its film productions at international film festivals. New films are produced annually, receiving recognition and special awards that highlight the high quality and uniqueness of Turkmen cinema.

This year, themed "Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi," has been particularly fruitful for Turkmen filmmakers working on a series of documentary films dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi.  Additionally, filming is underway for a joint Turkmen-Uzbek feature film about the life of this classic of Turkmen literature.

Most of these creative projects will be showcased at the International Film Festival "Gorkut Ata," scheduled for November this year in Turkmenistan.
