Turkmenistan welcomed the main holiday of the country – the 33rd anniversary of independence with glorious fulfilments and labour achievements. The dream of great poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi of construction of a sovereign state has come true. Effective realisation of grandiose undertakings and large-scale initiatives started by National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Hero-Arkadag by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, augments the authority of our fatherland, which has turned into a strong state in every respect with its unique model of independent neutral development. Programs of improvement of the level and quality of life of people, creation of competitive national economy as well as complex development of the country are successfully realised.
On the significant day - on September 27 - President Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in a solemn ceremony of flower laying at the Monument of Independence of Turkmenistan and in the festive parade, which took place in the capital on the square before a complex of the State Tribune.
The defensive power of our fatherland, high professionalism and faultless training of our soldiers, readiness to counteract to challenges and present threats were shown by the review of the latest land, sea and air military technology obtained in recent years by armed forces of security departments.
Procession of horse divisions of military men and law enforcement bodies of the country became a highlight of the celebration.
As a sign of sincere gratitude for shown care of peaceful and happy life of people, further prosperity of our beloved fatherland and on the occasion of a significant holiday on behalf of members of the Government a racing horse of Akhal-Teke breed Dovamly was given to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov as a gift.
All branches of national economy devoted their labour achievements to the anniversary of sacred independence. Representatives of the Khalk Maslakhaty, Mejlis and public organisations of Turkmenistan, delegations of Arkadag city and the capital as well as regions of the country took part in the colourful procession on the country’s main square.
In honour of the glorious date, celebrations were held widely and joyfully all over the country. Workers of art and culture performed the best compositions of the modern and national song-musical classics and unique vocal-choreographic compositions glorifying the beauty and power of our fatherland, unity of Turkmen people, triumph of its high spirit and creative activity.
On completion of the concert, which took place in the evening on the area before the Culture and entertaining centre "Älem", the sky over white marble-coated Ashgabat was lighted up by grandiose fireworks, becoming an impressing final of the holiday.
Celebrations with participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov proceeded on September 28 in the international horseracing complex.
The bright colour inherent in the present Turkmen toi was added to the holiday palette by a large scale exhibition of fine and decorative-applied arts, devoted to the legendary Akhal-Teke racers, inspired performance of actors and musicians-bagshy, competitions of wrestlers in the goresh.
As if soaring over the earth, whose beauty, stamina and grace since time immemorial cause genuine admiration in the world, racing horses displayed the speed and playfulness in seven races courses for various distances. In the final of them a persistent contest was displayed for the main prize instituted by the President of Turkmenistan.
Well-deserved awards were handed to winners.
On the occasion of the holiday according to the Decrees signed by President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the ceremony of state awards for military men, assignments of next military and special ranks as well as ranks to military men and law enforcement officers took place.
At the same time, celebrations of the best workers of various branches of national economy, leaders of manufacture, employees of ministries and departments, their structural organisations, creative figures, veterans of work who for special merits before the state and society were awarded medals and honorary titles, were held.
Past week President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a number of meetings with foreign business partners. Issues of expansion of participation in realisation of large-scale economic projects in our country were discussed with representatives of Joint-stock company companies "CLAAS" (Germany), companies "Bouygues" and «John Deere», Groups of design-building companies "Renaissance" (Russian Federation).
Available possibilities for activization of bilateral cooperation in the field of sports became a theme of meetings with head of the World Confederation of Ethnosport by Bilal Erdogan.
National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also met with head of Intergovernmental Coordination Council on Seed Production of the CIS I. Kuzmin, who was awarded a high rank of the Hero of Turkmenistan for his large scale work and personal contribution to development of seed-growing.
The academician-agriculturist gave an appreciation to new grades of wheat «Serdar», «Arkadag», «Pyragy», developed by scientists of research agricultural institutes of our country. Fruitfulness of large-scale work on development of agricultural branch on a scientific basis and by that the strengthening of food safety and increase of export potential were noted.
The major issues of the state and political life, called to provide happiness and well-being of our people, plans of the country for long term development were discussed at the next meeting of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan that took place on the threshold of the holiday under the chairmanship of National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
On the eve of the historical meeting, its participants laid flowers at the monument to Magtymguly Fragi in the cultural-park complex «Magtymguly Pyragy» on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of independence of our fatherland.
Speaking at the meeting, Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that the radical restructurings carried out in Turkmenistan under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov differ with their large scale and innovation and cover all spheres of the state and public life.
Speaking of achievements of our country, the Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty underlined their aim at increase of social standard of living of people. Among the basic features of economic development were designated a high level of income per capita as well as human capital and scientific and technical achievements, high efficiency of work in all branches, high rates of economic reforms, competitiveness in the world market.
The National Leader of the Turkmen people also focused attention on key issues of the state youth policy. In the given context, importance of increase of number of preschool centres and secondary comprehensive schools, perfection of work with children with limited possibilities of health, improvement of professional skill of teachers working with them, development of advanced technique of scientific-educational and industrial interrelation in high schools was marked.
The importance of strengthening of the position of Arkadag city as international centre of science and education and creation of the international research centre for popularisation and study of ancient, medieval, new and contemporary history of Turkmenistan, archaeological, architectural monuments was underlined.
Concerning transformations in branches of economy that promote improvement of employment of population, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov pointed out expediency of adoption «Concepts of development of labour market of Turkmenistan for 2030», called to become a significant step in expansion of cooperation in the field of employment with international organisations, foreign countries, in particular, in joining conventions of the International Labour Organisation.
Having placed a special emphasis on necessity of development of financial market, introduction of new kinds and business methods, Hero-Arkadag designated among important issues adoption of the Strategy of development of the financial market for 2030, as well as the National Program to support small and medium business that will serve as the beginning of a new stage of dynamical development of our country.
The National Leader of the Turkmen people suggested to consider at the following meeting of the Khalk Maslakhaty drafts of the Strategy of development of the country for 2026-2052 in such areas as: foreign trade activities, state-private partnership, digital economy, transport diplomacy, cultural diplomacy, scientific-medical diplomacy, higher education, as well as drafts of the Concept of development of system of intellectual property and the Program to support and develop physical culture and sports for 2030.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, speaking from the high podium of the forum, summed up results of work carried out in the country this year for social and economic development of our independent neutral fatherland, improvement of well-being of citizens, and defined important issues of further development of Turkmenistan.
The head of the state stated further dynamics of national economy and a stable growth of gross national product, which from the beginning of the current year keeps at the level of 6,3 percent also testifies to this fact.
Target measures are taken for essential increase of efficiency of state investment policy. In fulfilment of regional and national investment projects, positive dynamics that promotes consolidation of economic potential of regions of the country is observed.
Along with it a significance of the recently investment forum of Turkmenistan in the context of development of international economic partnership, establishment of new business contacts and representation of investment possibilities of the country in the world was underlined.
According to the «Program of social and economic development of Turkmenistan and investments for 2024» until the end of the current year capital investments at the rate of 38 billion 500 million manats, which will be directed to development of the country, will be used and it will allow to build and modernise industrial and welfare objects.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov underlined that during the current year on the basis of the main financial document of the country considerable means were directed to development of education system, public health services and culture, building of objects of industrial and social infrastructure.
So, the total sum of allocated investments on building of industrial constructions made up 67,8 percent, social objects - 32,2 percent. Thus, the revenue part of the State budget increased at the expense of reform of economy, innovative development and increase of share of the private sector.
The President of Turkmenistan noted importance of the reforms carried out for the purpose of improvement of quality of bank services that provided a stable rate of national currency, stability of monetary circulation and economic growth. Since January 1 of the next year the sizes of salary of workers of budgetary establishments, self-supporting enterprises and public associations, pensions, welfare payments and grants will be again raised by 10 percent.
As was underlined, measures on increase of standard of living of population will have henceforth a consecutive character. It once again confirms that the care of well-being of citizens is a state policy priority.
With a view of successful solution of issues of the forthcoming year defined in the program “Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state: National Program of Turkmenistan's socioeconomic development in the period 2022-2052”, the head of the state instructed to develop and submit to the Khalk Maslakhaty the «Program of social and economic development of Turkmenistan and investments for 2025».
Our overall objective - confident advancement of our fatherland in the great future that is why we should direct all energies for maintenance of further prosperity of our fatherland and increase of standard of living of our courageous people, the head of the state underlined.
At the meeting, the ceremony of awarding of persons, ranks «Hero of Turkmenistan» took place.
The President of the country signed historically significant Decrees directed to further complex development of our sovereign fatherland. Among them the document on holding of events in commemoration of 2025 - International Year of Peace and Trust as well as approved the Concept of development of Arkadag city for 2024-2052 and Strategy of development of the sphere of science in Turkmenistan for 2024-2052.
On September 25 with participation of National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Hero-Arkadag and President Arkadagly Hero Serdar in the Mosque of Spirituality of Turkmenbashi the sadaka was given in honour of the 33rd anniversary of sacred independence of our fatherland and successful completion of the meeting of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan.
Hero-Arkadag and the head of the state laid flowers at the memorial in the mausoleum near the mosque, having paid a memory tribute to the first President of Turkmenistan Saparmyrat Niyazov.
The solemn ceremony of awarding passports to the persons who were given citizenship of Turkmenistan and residence permits given to the foreign citizens who live in the territory of the country, which took place in the State Migration Service was timed to the holiday of independence of our fatherland.
According to the Decree signed by the head of the state on the past September 22, at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, 1 thousand 146 persons - representatives of 29 nationalities constantly living in our country became citizens of Turkmenistan. Besides it, according to the Resolution of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov residence permits were given to 134 persons who are citizens of 6 states and representatives of 15 nationalities that reside in Turkmenistan.
Thus, the last week was marked with important events for the country and our people and it brightly attests dynamic development and achievement of tremendous successes in all spheres of life thanks to inspired work of Turkmen nationals in our fatherland. Under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, cardinal transformations are carried out for progress and prosperity of our country and well-being of our people.
