The creative team of the Uzbek Music and Drama Theatre of the Horezm Velayat was given the stage of the National Music and Drama Theatre named after Magtymguly. Uzbek actors presented the play «Magtymguly» to the festival participants.

In Uzbekistan, the poetry of Magtymguly Fragi is well known and the Turkmen poet is sacredly revered, and the fact that he, who has gained fame throughout the world, studied for several years at the Khiva madrasah is a source of pride for the people of Uzbekistan.

The participants of the II Theatre Festival of the member countries of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), as well as Ashgabat lovers of the performing arts, gathered in the hall guessed that this period of the life of the Turkmen poet would be reflected in the Uzbek play «Magtymguly». And they were not mistaken.

The scenographic solution delighted all the spectators: a city from an Eastern fairy tale appeared on the stage. A starry sky, narrow streets, houses in which various everyday situations occur and the presence of a girl with a sad face. This is the image of Mengli, who lived in the poet's soul throughout all his years of study.

The audience in the hall thanked the Uzbek actors with warm applause for the successful interpretation of fragments of the life of their beloved poet.
