Seminars for representatives of the private sector on climate change adaptation were finished in Turkmenistan.
The seminars were held in Ashgabat and Dashoguz province within the "Development of the national adaptation planning process in Turkmenistan" project which is realized by the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program. Key topics related to the adaptation of the agricultural sector on climate change and the sustainable business development in a changing climate discussed on the seminar.
The participants considered the risks related with climate change and the need of the adaption business strategies in agriculture to minimize these risks.
If government and private companies will work together, they can provide sustainable future in the face of climate uncertainty noted UNDP’s Project Manager Maya Ashirova.
