An author’s concert by Rovshen Nepesov, Honored Art Worker of Turkmenistan, was held at the Magtymguly National Music and Drama Theater, where the composer's new work - the musical poem "Fragi" - was presented. We met with the author and congratulated him on his successful performance and birthday, which the concert was timed to celebrate.

When asked why he chose to celebrate his birthday on stage rather than at home with family and close friends, the maestro replied that for a musician, the stage is also home, and the best guests are listeners who know and love the composer's work.

"How did you come up with the idea to create the poem 'Fragi'?"

"The 300th anniversary of Magtymguly is widely celebrated not only in our country but also abroad. Once, by chance, I attended an exhibition of works by Turkmen artists who presented paintings inspired by a single line from Magtymguly's works. I was amazed. The impression of the reverence for the greatest poet was enormous. I wanted to express this in music. From musical instruments, I chose not the dutar or piano, but the violin, which better than other instruments conveys refined, elevated feelings. I entrusted the solo in my new work to Bahram Dolyev, whom I consider the best violinist. And I was very pleased with his performance skills. During the performance, he squeezed everything possible out of the violin. As a sign of deep gratitude for his performance mastery, I hugged Bahram tightly on stage."

"You named the musical poem very concisely - 'Fragi'. Why? I felt Magtymguly's life in the sounds of the violin at full power, where achieved heights gave the opportunity to rise even higher. It was a vertical that rose above Turkmenistan and grew upwards - above the planet. It seems to me that the poem could have been called 'The Vertical of Magtymguly's Talent'."

"For all his greatness, Magtymguly was a modest person. I wanted to emphasize this in the laconic title of my work - 'Fragi'."

"The 'Camerata Ashgabat' orchestra performed eight of your works at the concert. In my opinion, the best of them is the poem 'Fragi', and in your opinion?"

"For me, my works are like my children, so the concept of 'best' is not applicable to them. Each of them contains a piece of my heart."

"At the concert, you shared with the audience that you have already started work on your new composition - the symphony 'Kushtdepdi'."

"Indeed, I am fully immersed in work on the new piece. I see it in a modern formation, where academic symphony will combine with folklore. The main moment in the 'Kushtdepdi' symphony is the transition from the noise of the Caspian waves to the 'Kushtdepdi' dance, which is included in the UNESCO cultural heritage register. In parallel, we are working on video recordings for this project."

"On behalf of all readers of our newspaper, we wish you new creative successes."
