Guests of the "Gorkut Ata" International Film Festival share their experiences

Today in the capital of Ashgabat at the Mukam Palace the closing ceremony of the "Gorkut Ata" International Film Festival will take place. The forum held in Ashgabat concerning the ancient Turkmen city Anau as a cultural capital of the Turkic world 2024.

Last year, at the III Turkic World Film Festival, Turkmenistan received a "Crane" statuette as a symbol of passing baton to the "Gorkut Ata" festival. Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the development of the film industry, the creation and screening of patriotic films, organizations of film forum, and the participation of turkmen specialists into the international events that are held abroad.

During the event foreign delegations visited Anau and the mosque of Seit Dzhemaletdin. The guests also visited the sights of the white marble capital of the turkmen state. For 3 days, at the "Aşgabat" cinema, "Watan" and "Türkmenistan" cinema and concert centres of the capital patriotic and foreign films are shown to a wide audience.

The power of art becomes a miracle that unites the hearts of participants and guests of the "Gorkut Ata" International Film Festival. The forum will be a significant contribution to further strengthening friendships and brotherhood between people's in development of cultural cooperation.

Some guests and participants of the forum shared their experiences of the film festival and their residency in hospitable Turkmenistan.

Director of the Turkish Radio and Television Union (TRT) Guven Faruk:

- We come to participate in the "Gorkut Ata" International Film Festival which is taking place in Turkmenistan. Previously this forum was held in Istanbul, Bursa and Baku. We are glad that we come to Ashgabat. The importance of this cultural event is great, it will contribute the improvement of the diverse culture and spiritual affinity of the Turkic people. As representatives of the Republic of Turkey, we want to develop the art of cinema and introduce the culture of Turkish nation to the world. Here, together with the our brothers from other countries, we reviewed plans for large-scale activities that will be implement in this area in the future.

By the way, we are presenting 2 feature films in the context of the TRT Association. The 1st - "Sadık Akhmet". The film is shot to mark the 75th anniversary of Dr. Sadık Akhmet. It shows the struggle of the Turkish nation for rights and freedom. The 2nd - cartoon "Rafadan Taifa", which is most viewed in Turkey.

I would like to note that the"Gorkut Ata" International Film Festival which is held in Ashgabat the beautiful capital of the Turkmenistan is organised at a high level. We wish to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov a good health, long life and success in a socially important cause.

Head of the Uzbek Film studio "Ramz-film", member of the Board of the Creative Union of Film Directors of Uzbekistan, director Erkin Muzaffarkhon:

- It's a great honor for me to present the film "Makhtumkuli Fragi" at the "Gorkut Ata" International Film Festival in Ashgabat together with the Turkmen colleagues on the occasion of the 300th anniversary. I would like to thank the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The importance of the Heads of the two countries in the creation of this film is great.

The film "Makhtumkuli Fragi" was the result of the work of our collaborative team. The film was created over 5 months in Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. More than 50 sets of decorations were built for a more accurate depiction of the poet's life.

Our team has created a visual world accurately depicted so that viewers can feel the spirit of the era of Makhtumkuli Fragi. The feature film "Makhtumkuli Fragi" is not only about the past, but also about our contribution to the future, which unites our cultural and spiritual riches. May this film inspire all of us to preserve and develop these values. I wish progress to the "Gorkut Ata" International Film Festival and unforgettable sensations, deep impressions to all participants and viewers.

Anarkul Nazarkulova, actress of the Russian State Drama Theater of the Kyrgyz Republic named after Chingiz Aitmatov:

– This is my first visit to Turkmenistan. Ashgabat impresses with architecture and construction, culture and ecology. The Turkmen capital looks very impressive as a densely populated city of white marble buildings. We got acquainted with the beautiful corners of the city, water parks, unique facilities, residential complexes built on advanced technologies. We visited the ancient Anau fortress and the complex of historical and cultural monuments "Seitjemaleddin".

At the festival, we presented the films "Error 404", "Zhel Kiyak" and "The White Ship".
