Today a special atmosphere reigned in the capital's “Daşkent” recreation park as events organized within the Days of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Turkmenistan continued here.

Many guests, including artists and cultural figures of the friendly country, were welcomed with warmth and hospitality consistent with Turkmen national traditions. Food and music created a festive mood, highlighting the spirit of friendship and cultural exchange between two nations.

Appreciating the color and decoration of the park, which includes elements of national Uzbek decor and architecture reflecting the richness and diversity of Uzbek culture, the guests began to remember the Ashgabat Park, located in the heart of Uzbekistan.

– It is amazing that the “Ashgabat” Park in Tashkent is located on Makhtumkuli Street, also the “Daşkent” Park in the capital of Turkmenistan is located on Makhtumkuli Avenue too, – noted the Honored Artist of Uzbekistan Abdukayum Yuldashev. – I have seen this park only in photographs, and now I am incredibly glad that I was able to see it personally. The renovated Ashgabat is beautiful: the air is clean and the roads are wide. By the way, I will take with me not only memories, but also a gift – a book of poems by the Uzbek poet Muhammad Yusuf, translated into Turkmen. I will give this valuable gift to the poet's house museum.

The conversation is interrupted by the loud sounds of drums announcing the beginning of an open-air concert. The artists of the Yunus Rajabi’s “Makom” Ensemble presented a rich program for the citizens of Ashgabat and guests of the capital, in which folk songs and melodies are played on traditional instruments.

"We were greeted warmly in Turkmenistan," says Gulomjon Yakubov, People's Artist of Uzbekistan. – Yesterday we played at the concert at the Mukam Palace, and the concert was organized at a high level. I performed several songs in the Turkmen language. Our peoples have a lot in common: culture and language are similar. May there always be friendship and brotherhood between the Turkmen and Uzbek peoples.

Uzbek artisans added extra charm to the event. According to craftswoman Shonazar Jumaeva, handmade golden sewing is famous in Samarkand and Bukhara, where she is from.

- There are many handicraft centers in Uzbekistan. I represent the “Hunarma”craft center and have been practicing my craft for more than thirty years. I have students and apprentices to whom I pass on my knowledge and experience. It was my first time in Turkmenistan, and as a master I immediately paid attention to the beautiful national outfits of girls. I was especially impressed by the carpet bags with Turkmen ornaments.

The cultural dialog held in the park “Daşkent” left the guests with unforgettable impressions and positive emotions. Now, with new impressions, the guests are going to Turkmenabat to continue the exchange of culture and traditions within the framework of further events.
