A water seminar on climate and agro-ecological financing was held in Ashgabat. The participants of the meeting as potential partners were representatives of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, Scientific Information Center of the Interstate Commission on Sustainable Development, German Society for International Cooperation, representatives of the domestic expert community in the field of land resources.
The workshop provided information on financial institutions, specialized funds that invest in forestry, agroecology, agricultural production, agro-landscape desalinization, fish farming, climate agenda.
Environmental Specialist of the FAO Sub-Regional Office for Central Asia, Ms. Yvette Zenina, who was the keynote speaker, expressed gratitude to the Government of Turkmenistan for building close cooperation in the field of increasing the resilience of agroecosystems to climate change, creating conditions for productive interaction.
It is planned to prepare events that will help strengthen Turkmenistan's cooperation with the Green Climate Fund.
