Turkmen specialists participated in the International Book Forum

Representatives from the State Library of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan and the State Children's Library named after B. Amanov participated for the first time in the II International Book Forum of Children's and Youth Literature of CIS countries, titled "In the Language of Children's Literature: Cooperation in the Field of Children's Literature and Reading."

The forum was held at the Russian State Children's Library in Moscow, supported by the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of CIS member states and the Association of Culture, Art and Education Professionals for Engaging Children in Reading "Raising a Reader."

The goal of the forum was to strengthen cultural and humanitarian ties among specialists in children's literature and reading, enhance effectiveness, develop infrastructure for children's reading in CIS countries, discuss the role and new opportunities for libraries serving children, and exchange experiences in implementing joint projects to engage children in reading.

Specialists in children's literature and reading from eight countries participated in the event. They presented the results and prospects of activities conducted in each country to support and develop children's and youth reading, shared successful experiences in implementing educational projects and practices in children's literature, and identified main directions for further cooperation. The forum also included participation of specialists of leading state and public organizations in culture and education, writers, illustrators and translators from CIS member states. The program featured thematic roundtables, meetings with writers and illustrators, and exhibitions.
