The Week of Friendship between Children of Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran has started at the Turkmen State Puppet Theater. The opening ceremony of the event was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Turkmenistan Ali Mojtaba Ruzbehani. He underlined the importance of strengthening cultural ties between the two countries, united by common values and traditions.
During the event, representatives of the Iranian delegation donated souvenirs to the museum of the Turkmen State Puppet Theater. In response, the administration of the theater presented dolls dressed in the national Turkmen clothes to the staff of the Mobile Museum of Iranian Culture.
Little artists opened the program of performances by coming on stage with the flags of Turkmenistan and Iran, symbolizing the continuation of cultural exchange between the two nations. The guests who visited the capital introduced children to traditional Iranian puppet characters reflecting the richness of folk art.
After the unusual performance, the young audience was able to get acquainted with the traveling exhibition of the International Museum dedicated to Iranian culture and peace. The exhibition includes dolls from different countries created by craftsmen in the national style.
Special attention was paid to the Iranian puppet theater, which uses dolls on sticks and masks. One of the most interesting elements of the Iranian doll tradition are dolls in the form of spoons, with expressive faces capable of conveying various emotions and characters.
Spoon puppet shows are often accompanied by music and folk tales, making them appealing to all ages. These performances emphasize the richness and diversity of Iranian culture and contribute to the preservation of folk traditions in the modern world.
The week of friendship between children of Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran will last until December 18. The event will include master classes where children can learn the art of painting, crafts, embroidery and doll making. Entrance is free for everyone.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan together with the Iranian Cultural Center in Ashgabat. As the representatives of the Iranian delegation noted, the mission of the Museum is to spread messages of peace and friendship around the world, thus strengthening international ties and mutual understanding among peoples.
