A personal exhibition dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the teacher of the State Academy of Arts, artist Gahryman Gochmuradov has been opened in the Exhibition Hall of Fine Arts of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan. The exhibition was a long-awaited meeting of the artist with a wide circle of art lovers, for whom the name of the hero of an anniversary is associated, first of all, with the painting "Party at a Coursemate's".

A large number of admirers of the artist's talent came to the opening of the exhibition. Among them was the People's Writer of Turkmenistan Govshutgeldi Danatarov, People's Artist of Turkmenistan Atajan Berdiev, People's Artist of Turkmenistan Gulyalek Akmuradova and other famous compatriots.

The jubilee exhibited almost 200 works, about ten of which were presented by the artist's wife Guncha Gochmuradova. The paintings occupied both floors of the Exhibition Center. In the central place of the first floor, in my opinion, the best painting by Gahryman, "Hospital", was displayed. The author depicted the 7th floor of a modern hospital hall with medical staff and patients. The colorful clothes of the patients were successfully used, which were reflected on the tiled floor as an additional pattern to the painting.

Modern medical institutions are now usually decorated with paintings. The author added to his painting a reproduction of the famous work by Mamed Mamedov "Nury Halmamedov", the original of which is kept in the Museum of Fine Arts. And this became another cherry on the cake! A funny boy is spinning around near the elevator, pressing call buttons, perhaps because of this, the busy nurse from the procedure room got stuck for a long time waiting for her call. You can't deny the artist's observation and humor. But, perhaps, the most important thing that he achieved in his work is the harmony of diversity, which amuses, and does not irritate.

- I will say in two words: “Gahryman Gochmuradov is a bright star in the Turkmen painting firmament,” this is how the elder of Turkmen painting, People’s Artist of Turkmenistan Annadurdy Almamedov spoke about the hero of an anniversary.

The live music of the string quartet from the M. Kulieva Turkmen National Conservatory made the time spent at the exhibition even more enjoyable.

- Artist Gahryman Gochmuradov is amazingly “friends” with the perspective of the drawing, - shares his observations the Honored artist of Turkmenistan, art critic Azat Annaev: - In the paintings "Dance" and "Party at a Classmate's" there is no perspective in the drawing, the flat drawing is completely packed with objects, creating a mosaic effect. And it looks interesting.

In the painting "Birthday" and the triptych "My Flower Garden", the objects are depicted from above, as if the artist has wings and is watching what is happening from above. The paintings gain a sharpness of perception from this. Gahryman's paintings also have bright, ringing colors. In the triptych "My Flower Garden", Guncha and Gahryman's children sleep soundly on sheets with purple flowers and many butterflies. The artist used the colors of the textiles to enhance the visual effect and achieved a wonderful result.

Gahryman Gochmuradov is an artist who searches and finds. In his exhibition of sketches for the play “Kabul and Habul” there is one sketch, in our opinion, the most interesting. Gahryman presented an apple in section, and instead of seeds he depicted a tiny man and woman. Thus, the artist reminded us of the ancient parable about the creation of mankind.

His landscapes are interesting. For example, the landscape of the courtyard where his studio is located is painted in the style of Van Gogh. It seems that nothing has changed - a house, two trees and a gate, but the landscape looks somehow different in the post-impressionist style. The landscape "Bus stop", created in a realistic style, is so attractive that it creates the illusion that I am not a spectator, but a person who is waiting for his bus with everyone else.

Guncha Gochmuradova accepted flowers and congratulations along with her husband.

- My paintings are fairy-tale ones, - she says smiling, - I am raising children after all. When telling them fairy tales, pictures are created in my head, and when the sketch is ready, the children help to color it - they suggest colors. This is how the paintings "Yartygulak", "Akpamyk", "Bovenjik" and others appeared. Guncha also has plenty of imagination. For example, in the painting "Yartygulak" at the very top is a flatbread. It symbolizes the sun. And the old man and woman, who have Yartygulak, are not old at all. In a word, there is enough amazing in her paintings.

The exhibition of the Gochmuradovs' works contains many interesting things, so it is definitely worth visiting, and perhaps even several times, to better examine all the cherries on the cake.
