An exhibition of works by Turkmen artists has been opened at the Exhibition Centre of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan for the national holiday, Horse Day. More than 100 paintings dedicated to Ahal-Teke horses, which are depicted in different life situations, but always delight people with their beauty and friendly nature, were presented to the audience.
There are paintings on historical themes, where the handsome horse occupies an important place, there are works on everyday themes, close to our time. Thus, in the painting by Merdan Abdyrahmanov «Greeting the Newborn», five boys and a girl surrounded a newborn foal and a horse breeder. Merdan managed to convey in the eyes of the children and the horse breeder the general affection from contemplating the foal that had just been born. And this state is involuntarily transmitted to the viewer.
Mammet Vepayev took an interesting approach to the solution of the theme of heavenly racers. There is no horse in his painting «Dream», but there is a shadow from a monument depicting a rider with a naked sabre. One boy from a group of children, sitting on a toy horse, repeated the pose of the rider, stretching up a wooden blade instead of a sabre. In this painting, which showed one of the games of kindergarten children, there is a philosophical hint at the continuity of generations.
Bibi Nuryyeva presented a horse in a designer style in the painting «Bedev». She painted the racehorse in different colours. What did the artist want to say with this? Perhaps each colours is one of the many natural qualities that we never cease to admire. Perhat Ishangulyyev in the painting «Turkmen Horses» depicted a group of horses in a classical style. In his work, horses prancing across the steppe decorate the nature of our region with their beauty.
Begench Murzayev depicted a hunter in his work «Continuity». In all likelihood, setting off on a long journey, the hunter decided to drink tea. Murzayev presented his hero surrounded by a horse, a falcon, dutar, chorek and pyyalas with aromatic tea. This was and will be so, the artist wanted to say, showing the hunter's attachment to things sacred to him.
The painting by Jeren Annamuhammedova «Melegush» attracts attention of visitors. Jeren managed to emphasise the fabulous beauty of a powerful horse with monochrome.
«Pride of the Turkmen People» - this is how Serdar Osmanov called his work, depicting on the canvas a celebration at the Anev Mosque, which lasted until dusk. Turkmen folk festivities are always accompanied by horse races, where horses are the main characters of the people's favourite entertainment.
The exhibition once again showed that heavenly horses have descended to earth and taken their rightful place in the paintings of Turkmen artists.
