An exhibition of works by two artists, Merdan Kakabaev and Azat Tuvakov, has been opened at the Exhibition Center of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan.
The reason for the joint exhibition was the fact that this year they are turning 45, the age at which an artist's professional maturity is fully achieved. Merdan Kakabaev is jokingly called a serial artist by his colleagues in the creative workshop. This is because he does not limit himself to one painting on a chosen theme. It turns out that he does not have single paintings, but a series
It should be noted that the range of Merdan Kakabaev's interests is quite wide. Since childhood, he dreamed of becoming an archaeologist: he was fascinated by the secrets hidden under the earth's layer. Having become an artist, he did not lose interest in archaeological finds: we find the most valuable artifacts in Merdan Kakabaev's still lifes. And because there are many artifacts, his still lifes can serve as a teaching aid on the archaeology of our country.
One day, folk musical instruments found their way into Merdan Kakabaev's still lifes, and then into his destanchi portraits. This is how Merdan Kakabaev's musical series of paintings was born. But the artist's most distinctive feature is his pure colors, which he was often reproached for during his studies at the State Art School and the State Art Academy, saying that such colors do not exist in nature. But he remained true to himself, and today the melon still lifes of Merdan Kakabaev delight visitors to the exhibition with their bright colors. Merdan Kakabaev is from Dashoguz, you can guess this by looking at the painting "New Dashoguz". The artist depicted a modern city in which it is pleasant to live, work and raise children - the future of our country.
Another participant of the exhibition - Azat Tuvakov is more of a graphic artist than a painter. Art experts note Azat's precise drawing. The lace-thin image in the graphic work "Wedding Procession" conveys the joy of a traditional wedding ceremony with a bride riding in a carriage, guests and musicians. The philosophical transmission in the painting "Drop" of raindrops, which reflect the world around us, captivates with the originality of the artist's vision of something greater in simple things, something accessible to ordinary people.
One of Azat Tuvakov's graphic works that makes the viewer linger for a long time is the painting "Autumn". It depicts a dancing girl with long flowing braids. The girl's appearance resembles a flexible weeping willow, but the sacred objects attached to her in the form of the national decoration tumar and others indicate that this tree-girl is endowed with magical powers. The artist called his work "Autumn", and this is also a reason to think about the reason why Azat Tuvakov combined such concepts as sacredness and a certain time of year.
The exhibition of paintings by two Turkmen artists is open to visitors until May 16.
