Cherishing and living in harmony with nature

Every meeting with the nature is like a special philosophical and poetic habitude of soul casting over the thoughts about something merciful, beautiful and eternal. When you are alone with the nature and in its enchanting power, you feel that you are a tiny part of the universe. At this time the thoughts that a human being as a part of the nature must live in harmony with it, be in tune with the soul, occur to you.

Every time visiting the regions of the country and making trips round the capital city, the Turkmen leader pays particular attention to the issues regarding protection of the environment and efficient use of the natural wealth. Groves, gardens, parks and public gardens are everywhere in Turkmenistan. Forest plantations, young tress grow up in every town, every settlement, every village. The peaks of our mountains – Kopetdag, Kugitang, Big Balkhan, gorges and valleys – Gekdere, Sumbar have turned green; what ‘green attire’ the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea in the Avaza national zone put on. Look at the white-marble capital of the Turkmen capital buried in verdure of trees and flowers!

Specialists of many countries recognized the Karakum Desert as the only one ecological reserve of the evolution of plants and animals of its kind. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focuses on the need to thoroughly and fundamentally study the unique flora and fauna of the largest desert of the continent, invite scientists from different countries and attract tourists so that they can see this miracle of nature.

Developing gas and oil fields and extracting natural resources people move deep into the heart of the Karakum Desert that is a national property. The duty of Turkmen citizens of Turkmenistan is to protect this unique ecosystem of regional and international value.

The harmony between the individual and the nature is a factor contributing to the development of healthy civil society in Turkmenistan. Bringing children to love and cherish the nature begins in a family. The responsibility for this is laid upon not only parents, but also preschool institutions and schools. These are the important tasks set to educational, cultural, sports and tourism institutions and the professional duty of teachers and mentors.

Turkmenistan is the country with diverse flora and fauna. For example, about 3,000 species of vascular plants grow in the territory of our country, 80 percent of them inhabit the mountain regions (etraps Archabil, Baharly, Magtymguly, Koytendag). Most of endemic plant species are of significant economic value. Over 1,200 plant species that grow in Turkmenistan have the healing and nutritional properties and are widely used in industry. Their healing properties are described in the book “Medicinal Herbs of Turkmenistan” by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Professor of Medicine, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan.

During his recent visit to the construction site of the Berzengi sanatorium located at the foothills of the Kopetdag Mountains, the President focused on the fresh mountain air, the favourable conditions created by nature and the healing properties of the Berzengi mineral spring and noted that phitotherapy “contributes to recovery of patient’s health and lets everyone feel the wonder-working power of medicinal herbs of the Turkmen land”. Herbal therapy based on the use of medicinal plants native to Turkmenistan, mineral springs and healing mud are efficiently applied at the sanatoria such as Bayramali, Archman, Yyly suv, Farap, Mollagara, clinics and health centres throughout the country. The Turkmen land and its mineral wealth are generous to people and present them their healing properties!

The economic strength of our country continuingly enhances, the work is in full swing everywhere, from the Caspian Sea cost in the west to the banks of the Amu Darya River in the east, from the northern latitudes in Dashoguz to the southern borders of Ahal and Mary. We are building the society of harmoniously developed people of independent neutral Turkmenistan. Everything should be in harmony – deeds, thoughts and feelings. One of the human feelings is the love for the Motherland, homeland and native nature that we are a part of.
