Turkmenistan to develop a Concept for improving legislation for the period 2022-2027

The expediency of developing and adopting this document was stated in his keynote speech at a meeting with members of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. At the meeting, an action plan was discussed in the main areas of activity of the Halk Maslakhaty and the Mejlis of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan in 2022. At the same time, in connection with the adoption on February 11 of the Program “Revival of a New Era of a Powerful State: National Program for the Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan in 2022-2052”, which defines the main directions for the development of our state and its institutions in the next 30 years, landmarks in legislative activity and promising tasks of the parliament for a new historical period.

As the Turkmen leader noted, “time is changing rapidly, life requires decisive actions, creative initiatives, important transformations from all of us.” Therefore, the adoption of laws that meet the increased requirements of the time will provide an opportunity to improve the legal system and will consistently strengthen the legislative base of the Turkmen state.

Purposeful work on the development of legislation, the key vectors of which were outlined by the head of state, will make it possible to implement the next effective measures to improve the political system of the country, further strengthen the national economy, achieve the social well-being of the people, ensure human rights and freedoms, which in modern Turkmen society is considered as the highest value.

In the new historical period, called "Revival of a new era of a powerful state", members of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan are called upon to direct all their efforts to the development of laws that provide for harmonious development and equal provision of the interests of the state, society and every person. As President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized, these "laws should provide for the strengthening and improvement of the legal system of our country, development of cooperation with international organizations and states of the planet."
