The national team of Turkmenistan will play with the teams of Uzbekistan, Bahrain and Tajikistan in the final tournament of the 17th Futsal Asian Cup, which will be held from September 27 to October 8, 2022 in Kuwait. These are the results of the draw, which took place today online at the headquarters of the Asian Football Confederation in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).

16 teams divided into 4 groups will compete for the title of the strongest team in Asia.

Turkmenistan and its rivals formed Group “B”.

Group “A”: Kuwait, Iraq, Thailand, Oman

Group “C”: Iran, Lebanon, Taiwan, Indonesia

Group “D”: Japan, Vietnam, Republic of Korea, Saudi Arabia

The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals.

Remind, that Turkmen futsal players will play in the final tournament of the Asian Cup 10 years later. They achieved this right by taking second place in the group at the qualifying competition held in Bishkek in April. During it, our team beat Kyrgyzstan in the first round - 3:1, then with a score of 0:3 lost to Iran, the 12-time reigning champion of Asia, and on the final game day defeated the Maldives - 7:0.

For the national team of Turkmenistan, the upcoming final tournament of the Asian Futsal Cup will be the 7th in history. Previously, Turkmen futsal players participated in it in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2012.
