Seven athletes will represent Turkmenistan at the world weightlifting championship starting on June 11 in Leon (Mexico) not older than 2005.

Boys and girls will compete for big and small medals in 20 weight categories.

In the men's tournament, Turkmenistan will be represented by Perhat Bagtiyarov (weight category up to 55 kg), Surajbek Sapaev and Saparly Mukhiev (both up to 96 kg), and in the women's tournament - Ogulshat Amanova (up to 45 kg), Gulyalek Kakamuradova, Medina Amanova (both up to 59 kg) and Anamjan Rustamova (up to 81 kg).

Ogulshat Amanova (up to 45 kg) and Perkhat Bagtiyarov (up to 55 kg) will be the first Turkmen weightlifters to take to the platform.

The world championship will end on June 18.
