Silver medals for the second place were awarded to the volleyball team of Turkmenistan at the Central Asian Challenge Cup that ended in Bishkek. This was determined by the results of the final, in which the hosts of the tournament - Kyrgyzstan and the team of Turkmenistan - met in the fight for the honorary trophy.
It is noteworthy that three days earlier the rivals had already met each other at the preliminary stage of the competition. And then in five games the victory was celebrated by the Turkmen team - 3:2 (28:26, 17:25, 25:21, 23:25, 15:8).
The final match turned out to be stubborn as well, during which our compatriots were twice in the lead: first after the first game (25:20), and then after the third (25:21). But both times, the Kyrgyzstanis, actively supported by their fans, equalized the score, taking the upper hand in the second (25:21) and fourth (25:16) games. As a result, the fate of the trophy was decided in the final game, in which the owners of the site were successful - 15:7.
The bronze medalists of the tournament were the volleyball players of Kazakhstan, who won the match for 3rd place over the national team of Uzbekistan - 3:0.
