Turkmen weightlifters won 13 medals of various denominations at the ongoing 5th Islamic Solidarity Games in the Turkish city of Konya.
The last three medals on the final day of the weightlifting competition in the super heavy weight category over 109 kg were won by the master of sports of international class from Mary Khodzhamukhammet Toychiev. In the snatch (184 kg), 30-year-old trainee of the honored coach of Turkmenistan Ikram Matkarimov won silver, 3 kg ahead of the 2022 world junior champion in Heraklion (Greece) and the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires (Argentina) Alireza Yousefi from Iran, and two bronze medals in the clean and jerk (225 kg) and the combined total.

The winner of the V Games of Islamic Solidarity with three gold medals in the snatch (200 kg), clean and jerk (246 kg) and biathlon (446 kg) was the champion of last year's Olympic Games in Tokyo and the reigning world champion 2021 in the weight category up to 109 kg Akbar Juraev from Uzbekistan.

In the clean and jerk, Dovranbek showed the fifth result (183 kg) and as a result, with a total of 348 kg, he took fourth place, losing only 1 kg to the bronze medalist of the Games, Ali Alotman from Saudi Arabia.
