Turkmen chess players will compete for the Mikhail Botvinnik Cup among youth teams of the CIS countries, which is being held in Moscow.
As the correspondent of “GA” was informed in the Chess Federation of Turkmenistan, 9 children's teams from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and our country take part in the competition organized by the Association of Chess Federations.
Each team consists of 3 boys and 1 girl under 14 led by a captain.
The tournament is held in a round robin system in 9 rounds in an unusual format: adult captains give simultaneous play sessions to young chess players of opposite teams. Time control is 90 minutes for the whole game with an addition of 30 seconds for each move made.
Turkmenistan is represented in this tournament by international master Karen Grigoryan (captain) and young chess players Vekil Agamyradov, Ilhan Charyyev, Sanjar Gaybullayev and Mahrijemal Gurbangeldiyeva. The team coach is Serdar Annaberdiyev.
