The Innovative Scientific and Educational Centre of the International University of Oil and Gas named after Yagshygeldi Kakayev received a licence to conduct environmental activities in the country.
The licence was issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan. The document gives the centre's specialists the right to carry out a set of research activities related to assessing the impact of harmful emissions on the environment and monitoring the amount of permissible concentrations of pollutants in the atmosphere.
A set of environmental protection measures in the use and development of natural resources is aimed at ensuring an increase in the efficiency of oil and gas production and at the same time preventing pollution of nature. Research work involves the use of methods for maintaining the purity of soil, water, air and cleaning them from various harmful substances.
According to the obtained permission for environmental activities, the Innovative Scientific and Educational Centre of the university will develop environmental passports, technological regulations, specifications and state standards for new types of products manufactured by enterprises, organizations, plants and factories of the country, as well as other objects of the public and private sector.
The centre's specialists have begun to develop permitted standards for liquid, gaseous and solid industrial waste emitted by enterprises into the environment, offering recommendations on reducing the negative impact of waste, on their disposal and recycling, and the development of environmentally friendly fertilizers from local raw materials is also underway.
The innovative scientific and educational centre as part of the oil and gas university is actively involved in advanced training and retraining of teachers and specialists in the oil and gas industry in the context of the development of automation. Classes at the centre are also attended by students of senior classes, secondary vocational and higher educational institutions, specialists in various fields and everyone who wants to receive basic and vocational education.
Among the areas of the centre's work are also attracting students to science, conducting various laboratory studies, as well as developing new formats of scientific and technical cooperation with sectors of the economy to jointly solve large-scale problems and enhance the introduction of scientific innovations.
