Students of higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan and foreign countries are invited to participate in the International competition of scientific and design works «The role of youth in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals», held by the Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Nyyazov on the occasion of World Environment Day.
The competition is held in two stages in Turkmen, Russian and English. I (first) stage - qualifying. According to its terms, participants must submit scientific and design work to the organizing committee of the competition by e-mail tohu.eco.olimp@gmail.com before the 1st of May of the current year. Research projects are accepted in the six most important areas of the SDGs: Zero Hunger; Clean water and sanitation; Affordable and clean energy; Fight against climate change; Preservation of the marine ecosystem; Conservation of dryland ecosystems.
The work can be done by one or two authors. When evaluating the works of the jury, the following criteria will be taken into account: justification of the modernity and relevance of the project, innovation and scientific approach, consistency in the description, accuracy and clarity of presentation, feasibility and cost of the project, the level of its preparation.
The authors of the best works, according to the jury, will receive the right to participate in the second stage of the competition. Participants who have passed to the II (second) stage will be announced on the 20th of May of the current year on the official website of the organizing university in the Olympiad-2023 section. It also details the requirements for the preparation and execution of works and other important information about the competition.
The II (second) stage of the competition will be held from the 1st to 5th of June 2023. Its participants will have to make presentations of their works in an online format for a full and detailed disclosure of their topic and content.
The jury of the international competition will include representatives of the Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Nyyazov, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan, professors, teachers, scientists and experts in the field of ecology and environmental protection from Turkmenistan and foreign countries.
The results of the competition will be announced at the end of the competition on the website of the organizing university. The winners and prize-winners of the international competition will be awarded diplomas of the corresponding degrees.
The organizers indicate the following goals of the competition: strengthening and expanding international friendly relations and interaction in the field of science and education, continuing to build up joint efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the UN and of major global importance.
Among the main objectives of the event are also the identification and support of talented youth, the development of the creative potential of students, their interest in scientific research and their profession, independent work skills, deepening knowledge of students on the topics of food security, ecology, environmental protection, rational use of natural resources, in including through acquaintance with the latest technologies and scientific innovations in these areas.
