42 winners and 175 prize-winners were announced following the results of the II International Olympiad in English, organized by the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammet Azadi among students of higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan and abroad.
31 first places were won by students of Turkmen universities. The leader in the number of winners was the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly, whose students were awarded 5 first places. 4 winners were named from the Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Nyyazov. Three first places each were taken by students of the State Medical University of Turkmenistan named after M. Garryyev, the International University for the Humanities and Development, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after D. Azadi.
Students of the Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan named after Oguzhan, the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management and the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction each won two. Another 4 first places were awarded to students of the International University of Oil and Gas named after Y. Kakayev, the Turkmen State Institute of Finance, the Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute named after S. Seydi and the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan.
125 experts in English from these and other universities of Turkmenistan were awarded second and third places at the end of the Olympiad. In total, 520 students from 24 higher schools of our country took part in the competition.
11 winners are foreign participants of the Olympiad from universities in Germany, Japan, Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. On account of students from abroad - 50 second and third prizes in the competition. In total, more than a thousand students from 156 universities from 35 foreign countries performed at the Olympiad. Among them, in addition to those mentioned, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, China, South Korea, Belarus, Hungary, Northern Cyprus, Nepal, Sri Lanka, France, Austria, El Salvador, USA, Sierra Leone, Argentina, Moldova, Venezuela, Mexico, Australia, Indonesia, Italy, Thailand, UK and Romania.
In general, the Olympiad brought together more than one and a half thousand students from more than 180 higher educational institutions in 36 countries of the world.
The awarding of the winners and prize-winners of the II International Olympiad in English took place as part of the closing ceremony of the Olympiad, held at the Higher Language School of Turkmenistan with the online participation of professors, teachers, students from the participating countries. The winners of the first, second and third places were awarded diplomas of the corresponding degrees. Certificates of honour were also awarded to 71 students from Turkmenistan and 26 students from foreign countries.
The Olympiad was a great opportunity for students to show their knowledge, abilities and talents, to strengthen and increase friendly relations and successfully developing interaction in the field of science and education between higher schools of Turkmenistan and abroad.
