A cultural and educational event dedicated to India was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
It was attended by representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of India in Turkmenistan and the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
In the conference hall of the Higher School of Diplomacy, the meeting was opened by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs G. Yusupova, who addressed the participants with a welcoming and introductory speech. They talked about the fruitful Turkmen-Indian cooperation, its significant areas and further progressive development, including in the field of science and education.
The event continued with a speech by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Turkmenistan Vidhu Peethambaran Nair. Expressing deep gratitude to the organizers of the event, the head of the diplomatic mission noted that India highly appreciates multilateral relations with friendly Turkmenistan, whose foreign policy is based on the principles of peace, kindness and mutual understanding. As noted, India is striving to develop the existing bilateral dialogue, including the productive interaction of education representatives of the two countries.
As a sign of friendship and mutual respect, during the meeting, a solemn ceremony of donating books by the Embassy of the Republic of India in Turkmenistan to the institute was held. Literature dedicated to the friendly country has replenished the book fund of the university's "Corner of India" - a platform for educational leisure for inquisitive students and guests of the institute.
In the "Corner of India" visitors are given the opportunity to expand their horizons and acquire new knowledge about the language, culture, national holidays, customs of the country, the modern development of the state. The Corner is equipped with the necessary information resources, including audio and video materials. Here Indian folk instruments, photo albums are presented, a library has been created, including books in different languages, works of fiction, periodicals, etc.
It is symbolic that the Corner of India, which opened within the walls of the university in April last year, is celebrating the first anniversary of its establishment. "Corner of India" was solemnly opened within the framework of the State visit to Turkmenistan and with the participation of the President of the Republic of India Ram Nath Kovind, who emphasized the importance of this event in strengthening friendship between the two peoples.
In continuation of the cultural event, the university hosted a presentation entitled “Incredible India”, which was presented to the participants, mainly by students, by Kanishka Singh, Second Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of India in Turkmenistan.
Further, in the language of creativity and art, in songs in the Indian language, talented students of the institute demonstrated their knowledge and passion for the theme of India.
On the occasion of the Day of India, a colorful thematic exposition unfolded in one of the halls of the university. Other cognitive and even culinary events were timed to coincide with this day at the institute - a quiz, tasting of national cuisine dishes and others.
The prepared cultural program of the Day of India at the Higher School of Diplomacy was rich and interesting, thanks to which the representatives of the two friendly countries managed to quite broadly reflect the theme of one of the most beautiful, amazing and colorful countries in the world with an ancient rich history and culture.
