From June 3-7, the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmamed Azadi hosted a week organized in honor of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Pyragy, the greatest thinker and brilliant poet-classic of the East.
The eventful week, held by the Russian Language and Literature Department of the university, was called "The World of Poetry of Magtymguly". The program of the week included various events, contests, meetings dedicated to the most interesting life and the richest literary heritage of the legendary creator.
The opening ceremony and the first day of the week were held in a solemn and deeply creative atmosphere at the Institute. For this day, students of the Russian Language and Literature Department, under the guidance of senior teacher Gozel Orazmukhammedova, presented thematic presentations "Magtymguly Pyragy – a poet separated from happiness" and "Magtymguly and Pushkin" to the participants of the event.
The students recited the poet's lyric poems in a touching and heartfelt manner, sensual lines imbued with deep meaning, high patriotic ideas and thoughts. The wise statements of the National Leader of the Turkmen people about the great classic Magtymguly, which were included in the content of the book "Spiritual World of Turkmens" by Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, sounded with a special sense of pride.
As part of the week, there were held a presentation contest on the life and work of the great poet and a contest of expressive reading of poems by Magtymguly. Competitions among students were filled with an atmosphere of lively communication and great creative enthusiasm. According to the results of the competitions, the winners and prize-winners were awarded certificates of honor from the Dean's Office of the Russian Language and Literature Department.
On the final day of the week, the institute hosted a creative meeting titled "And your verse lives on the lips of the singer ", organized and led by teachers of the Russian Language Department A. Sakhatova and G. Orazmukhammedova. The event was attended by teachers, creatively gifted and talented students of the institute and a correspondent of the newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan".
The meeting was dedicated to the works of Magtymguly Pyragy and Alexander Pushkin, the greatest poets of all times and peoples. These two great geniuses were called the pride of the Turkmen people and the Sun of Russian poetry. They were united by the real, sincere love for their motherland. The true masters of the word let everything said in their works pass through their ardent hearts, and they served their native land with all their creativity.
During the meeting, the students enthusiastically recited poems of their own composition dedicated to the outstanding poets and their dear and beloved homeland, independent and neutral Turkmenistan.
