Turkmenistan called for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation with the Republic of Hungary in the field of transport. The relevant proposals were made by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the talks with the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban, who paid an official visit to Ashgabat.

During the meeting, among the topical areas of partnership, the transport sector was identified, which, in the light of modern realities, is of particular importance.

As Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted, Turkmenistan, through the Lazurit and «Caspian Sea-Black Sea» transport and transit routes, plays an important connecting role between Asia and Europe. According to him, at present the Turkmen side is carrying out procedures for joining the Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA) transport corridor.

«In this context, it seems appropriate to prepare for signing the basic documents on cooperation in the field of transport», the head of Turkmenistan emphasized.
