According to the results of five months of this year, the plan for the extraction of natural and associated gas was fulfilled by 107.4 percent, for the export of «blue fuel» - by 109.9 percent, and for the production of liquefied gas - by 113.6 percent. These figures, announced at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan on Saturday, testify to the systematic increase in the production and export potential of the country's gas industry.

This is of great importance not only for the economy of Turkmenistan, but also for ensuring regional and global energy security. The huge gas resources of the country are of interest both in Asia and in Europe. As the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported, during the Turkmen-Pakistani talks held on the 7th to 8th of June in Islamabad, the parties agreed that significant progress had been made in terms of the practical implementation of the TAPI project - the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline, which will ensure energy security, economic growth and the prosperity of Pakistan, as well as the entire region. A joint plan for the implementation of the TAPI MGP construction project was signed, providing for the completion of its feasibility study and the acceleration of construction work as soon as possible.

The possibilities of mutually beneficial partnership in the energy sector were also discussed during the recent talks in the Turkmen capital between President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban. Considering that Turkmenistan occupies the 4th place in the world in terms of natural gas reserves, the production of hydrogen from natural gas was named a promising and popular area of energy cooperation. Turkmenistan expressed readiness to consider concrete proposals of Hungarian colleagues in this segment. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov proposed to instruct the relevant state structures of the two countries to prepare a list of measures to establish cooperation in the energy sector.
