At the recent meeting of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Turkmenistan Ji Kyu-Taek, it was noted that the cultural and humanitarian aspect plays an important role in the multifaceted interaction between the two countries, contributing to the rapprochement of peoples, mutual enrichment of cultures. Therefore, great importance in bilateral relations is attached to the continuation of fruitful cooperation in the fields of education and culture, sports, tourism and healthcare.

In Ashgabat, the Korean Educational Centre named after King Sejong, which provides an opportunity for linguistic training for everyone who wants to learn the Korean language and acquaints the Turkmen people with various aspects of the culture of the «land of morning freshness».

To make learning Korean more accessible to all residents of Turkmenistan, the Centre offers the first 10 lessons of the Korean language course at the elementary level (starting with the alphabet) to be free of charge. Only interested students, if they wish, can continue their education on a paid basis.

The number of students in the group is 15 people, the age of students is from 10 years and older. Classes are taught by highly qualified teachers certified by the Korean Language Institutes. Studying in language courses is complemented by various cultural events.
