An international scientific conference "Arkadag City is the city of smart and green technologies" was held today in the conference hall of the Dovletmammed Azadi Library of the first "smart" city of the country.

The event, organized as part of the opening ceremony of the first stage of the "smart-city" by the Hyakimlik of Arkadag city and the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, is held not only in the traditional format, but is simultaneously broadcast online from the Communications Department of the new city.

The International forum brought together the heads of agencies of the domestic transport and communication complex, foreign manufacturers of high-tech equipment, developers of advanced technologies and services, major international telecom operators and software, representatives of international organizations and structures.

Issues of creating sustainable, viable cities and a comfortable urban environment, promoting economic growth, ensuring the well-being of current and future generations were discussed at the plenary session "Smart and Green Cities" as a guarantee of sustainable and effective development of urban infrastructure".

The delegates of the forum emphasized the historical significance of the opening of the city of Arkadag, created on the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Thanks to the constant attention and support of Hero-Arkadag and the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, this first "smart city" in our country has become one of the perfect cities, with the most favorable conditions for living, working and recreation.

With regard to the topic of road infrastructure, the speakers noted its compliance with international standards, focusing on the equipment of modern lighting, video surveillance and control systems. In particular, Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) uses innovative developments in modeling of transport systems and regulation of traffic flows. The main function of ITS is to implement "smart" roads equipped with intelligent technologies.

As the guests noted, the opening of the city of Arkadag, which can rightfully be called the city of the future, will go down in gold letters in the annals of the modern history of Turkmenistan as a real example of unprecedented economic and scientific and technological development of the country, diligence and talent of the Turkmen people.

During the plenary session the guests stressed that Arkadag Smart City is a successful example of digital transformation and use of "green" technologies. The city has implemented the concept of "smart city" and approach to ensure zero harm to the environment at all stages - from the production of building materials to the stage of operation of facilities.

The forum delegates generally agreed that Turkmenistan is ready for the most active, constructive and active participation in multilateral cooperation on all relevant issues of the global agenda, especially in the promotion of effective digital and "green" solutions.

The participants of the international conference expressed their conviction that the city of Arkadag will become not only a convenient and comfortable place for people to live, but also a center for the development of science and technology, education, sports, broad international business partnership, creative ideas of young people.

In the afternoon, there were sessions on the topic "Technologies and solutions for smart and green cities", which were also held in a hybrid format.

During the meetings, such issues as smart technologies help and influence the daily life of citizens, sustainable architecture and urban planning, integration of renewable energy sources, smart mobility and transport, cybersecurity, etc. were discussed.

The participants noted that the global digitalization of the economy requires enterprises, organizations and companies to pay special attention to the issues of accelerated mastery of innovative technologies by specialists, ensuring cybersecurity. After all, the future of the communication sphere is directly related to such concepts as Internet platforms, cloud services, the transition to 5G, Big Data technologies, mobile finance, ways to monetize content, and many others.

There were also reports by foreign experts on new directions in the development of information and communication technologies, and much attention was paid to the prospects for innovations that have a significant impact on the development of the Internet around the world.

There was an exchange of views on important issues of digital and "green" transformation for sustainable development. It was noted that modern technology offers new opportunities for economic growth, management of public services, and has great potential to improve the management of natural resources.

The speakers dwelled on such issues as artificial intelligence, green logistics, smart parking, innovative services, etc. In this regard, there were emphasized the importance of studying foreign experience, intensifying international scientific exchange, close cooperation with specialized structures and international organizations that promote the incorporation of advanced technologies into production.
