4th year student of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Kuvvat Mammadov took part in the International Youth Forum on Creativity and Heritage on the Great Silk Road, which was held in the Chinese cities of Changsha and Nanjing.
Kuvwat received the right to participate in the forum thanks to a confident victory in a thematic competition, on the site of which about 900 young people from more than 100 countries of the world performed.
The International Youth Forum is organized by UNESCO in cooperation with the National Commission of the People's Republic of China for UNESCO, the World Federation of UNESCO Associations, Centers and Clubs and the municipalities of Changsha and Nanjing, included in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network for Literature and Media Arts. A major international event brought together more than 100 participants from 70 countries.
During the forum, the youth had the opportunity to jointly discuss the topic of the meeting, exchange views on the historical significance of the Great Silk Road and its modern role, as well as the role of cultural interaction and diversity on the ancient route. On the first day of the forum, participants were provided with introductory, bright and unforgettable excursions around the city of Changsha and the Xi'an River.
Further, the event continued in the ancient city of Nanjing, which is a city of six Chinese dynasties and one of the four ancient capitals of the Celestial Empire. In this historical and cultural city of China, within the framework of the International Youth Forum, participants spoke on the topic of culture and traditions of their countries.
On the basis of the prepared video presentation, a student of the IMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan told the forum delegates about the national traditions of our people and the Turkmen dance "Kushtepdi", which is included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List. Kuvvat Mammadov's speech was met with special interest and attention, as well as a friendly applause from the public.
In continuation of the forum, youth representatives from different countries visited several historical sites and got acquainted with the cultural attractions of the city of Nanjing.
