More than 100 schoolchildren-athletes from all regions of the country gathered the first championship of Turkmenistan in chess among school teams, which ended in Ashgabat. Competitions organized by the Chess Federation of the country and the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Physical Culture and Sports were held in the capital's Specialized Chess and Chess School.

The tournament was held in 7 rounds in two age categories - under 12 and under 18 years old. Each team consisted of 4 athletes. 16 teams participated in the under 12 category, and 13 teams participated in the under 18 category.

Uncompromising battles revealed the following winners and prize-winners:

In the category up to 12 years:

I place: 41st secondary school in Turkmenabat, Lebap velayat. 11 team points out of 14 possible (board points: 19.0 out of 28 possible).

The teams that took first places in this competition received the right to participate in the World Championship among school teams, which this year will be held for the first time in the history of the International Chess Federation (FIDE). The world championship will be hosted by the city of Aktau of the Republic of Kazakhstan from 3 to 8 August.
