A hackathon was held in Ashgabat among student teams of higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan, organized by the Institute of Engineering and Transport Communications of Turkmenistan jointly with the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction.
As part of the student hackathon, the jury considered and evaluated the proposals-projects of the participants in the field of programming and engineering for the construction of the second stage of the city of Arkadag, in particular, its cultural and entertainment zone. The competition is called: «Proposal for the construction of a cultural and entertainment complex of the second stage of the city of Arkadag».
A hackathon, by definition, is a competition between teams in the IT field, in which participants temporarily create a prototype of a mobile application, web service or other product to solve a specific task set by the customer.
When evaluating student proposals, the relevance, originality, novelty and creativity of ideas, their practical significance, and the effectiveness of teamwork were taken into account.
According to the results of the competition, the first place was shared by the teams of students of the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan and the International University of Oil and Gas named after Y. Kakayev.
The second places were won by student teams of three universities: the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction, the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan and the International University for the Humanities and Development.
Seven third places are determined by the results of the competition. They were received by the teams of the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan, the Institute of Engineering and Transport Communications of the country, the Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute named after S. Seydi, the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management, the Turkmen Agricultural Institute, the Institute of International Relations of the MFA of Turkmenistan and the Turkmen Agricultural University named after. S.A. Nyyazov.
The winners and prize-winners of the competition were awarded diplomas of the corresponding degrees. 4 more teams of participating universities received incentive prizes.
Holding such events contributes to the development of young people's interest in the study of science, independent research in various fields, the desire to master modern innovations and world practices, understanding the need and importance of personal participation and contribution to the development of the country, and also encourages young people to new achievements and successes.
The involvement of young scientists, novice specialists, students, the introduction of their innovative ideas into the implementation of projects for the socio-economic development of Turkmenistan is one of the main directions of the country's youth policy.
