As part of the wide international celebration of the forthcoming 300th anniversary of the Turkmen classic and philosopher Magtymguly Pyragy next year, an international scientific conference entitled «Magtymguly Pyragy and the literature of the Turkic peoples» was held in the headquarters of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) in Ankara.
The conference, along with prominent foreign scientists, figures of culture and art, employees of foreign embassies in Turkey, representatives of universities and the media, was attended by the director of the Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts named after Magtymguly of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan D. Orazsahedov Department of Turkmen Literature and Literary Relations of the Institute B. Toylyyev, Senior Researcher of the Department of Textual Studies and Literary Heritage G. Tagandurdyyev.
An exhibition was organized for the participants of the conference, which presented the works of the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, translations of Magtymguly Pyragy's poems into the languages of the peoples of the world, as well as samples of the Turkmen national applied art.
The speeches at the conference were devoted to research and creative work, which is carried out in various countries to study the literary heritage of the great Turkmen classic, the influence of his poetry on the culture of the Turkish and other Turkic peoples, the disclosure of the poet's philosophical views on the attitude to the Motherland, life, peace, man, love and friendship, as well as the translation of his poems. As the speakers emphasized, Magtymguly Pyragy raised very important issues in his works that may be of interest to everyone who is interested in the development of the world, the future of mankind, respects national cultural values. Scientists and cultural figures were unanimous in their opinion about the universal significance of the work of the great son of the Turkmen people - a wise philosopher and poet who inspires people of different ages and cultures for spiritual self-improvement.
Within the framework of the international scientific conference, the director of the Institute of Language named after Magtymguly, Literature and National Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, Davut Orazsahedov, was awarded the 30th Anniversary of TURKSOY medal, and its participants were awarded the badge of honor of the Organization. Representatives of the Turkmen Academic Institute were also given copies of studies of the literary heritage of Magtymguly and translations of his poems published in the Republic of Turkey. Containing extensive information on the study of the poet's work, these books by Turkish authors are a great contribution to familiarizing the world community with the humanistic ideas of the Turkmen philosopher and poet.
The international scientific conference once again demonstrated the common cultural and spiritual values of the kindred cultures of the two fraternal peoples and became another step in strengthening the cultural cooperation of Turkmenistan with the International Organization of Turkic Culture.
