Turkmen athletes won 18 medals of various merits at the international tournament Kyrgyzstan Open-2023 in wushu-sanda and hand-to-hand combat, which ended in Cholpon-Ata, Issyk-Kul region of the Kyrgyz Republic.

As reported to the correspondent of "GA" in the State Sports Committee of Turkmenistan, more than 600 athletes from 10 countries fought for medals in the disciplines of "Duel" among children, boys, juniors, men and women and "Self–defense" among men and women in the competitions held at the "Gazprom for Children" sports complex. Following the results of the competitions, the Turkmen team won three gold, five silver and 10 bronze medals.

The awards of the highest standard were awarded to: Eziz Annaev (weight category up to 25 kg), Seidulla Akmammedov (up to 65 kg) and Shohrat Rejepov (up to 75 kg).

The silver medalists were: Pena Rovshengeldyev (up to 32 kg), Yazgeldy Saparov (up to 33 kg), Davud Toilyev (over 45 kg), Gudrat Berdiliev (up to 56 kg) and Vepa Orazov (over 85 kg), and the bronze – Islammukhammet Dovletov (up to 36 kg), Suleiman Yunusov (up to 48 kg), Atakhan Mukhammedov, Sanjar Artykov (both – up to 52 kg), Hezret Ovezgeldiyev, Kemran Latipov (both – up to 60 kg), Tirkeshgeldi Garajaev (up to 65 kg), Abdyrahman Ilmyradov, Mekan Paltaev (both – up to 70 kg) and Maksatmyrat Alyev (up to 80 kg).
