Much research work was carried out in India by scientists from the Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts named after Magtymguly of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan.
As a result of a thorough study of the manuscript and book collections of the National Museum of India in New Delhi, the Raza Library in Rampur, the Bangiya Sahitya Parishat literary society and the Asiatic Society in Calcutta, they discovered 69 manuscripts related to the history, culture and art of the Turkmen people and brought their electronic copies to Turkmenistan.
49 of these manuscripts are written in Persian, 10 in Arabic and 10 in Turkmen. Most of the valuable scientific sources for studying the creative heritage of Magtymguly Fragi and other outstanding Turkmen figures, the history and culture of the Turkmen people were previously unknown in Turkmenistan. Of particular value are the poems of Bayram Han, personally written and decorated with beautiful miniatures, and the manuscript of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, the founder of the Mughal dynasty in India.
Among the finds related to the history of the Turkmen people are manuscripts related to the Qutub Shah dynasties. Adil-Shahs and the Great Mughals. Manuscripts related to the works of Mane Baba, Fuzuli, Kashi, Hosrow Dehlavi shed light on issues of Turkmen literature. Among the manuscripts studied by Turkmen scientists there are also new sources on medicine, horse breeding, archery, linguistics, etc.
During a scientific trip to the Republic of India, Turkmen scientists discussed with issues of Indian colleagues of cooperation in studying the life and creative heritage, publishing the works of Magtymguly Fragi, whose 300th anniversary is widely celebrated at the international level. They took part in an event organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in India dedicated to the presentation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s book «Youth is the support of the Motherland» and the 2024 motto «The Fount of the wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi», at which the head of the department of the Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts named after Magtymguly Geldimyrat Muhammedov spoke about the life and work of the Turkmen classical poet. A meeting was also held with Delhi University professor Abhay Maurya and representatives of the Indian media, at which the importance of translating selected poems of Magtymguly Fragi into Hindi for the development of cultural ties between the two countries was emphasized.
