The development of the transport infrastructure of the country's regions is an important component of large international projects implemented by Turkmenistan, of the state transport strategy. This activity is aimed at involving the territories in active economic, trade-economic and social-humanitarian interaction, increasing their investment potential, stimulating entrepreneurship in rural areas and industrial integration.

At the same time, special attention is paid to the creation of a multimodal logistics network, the optimal uniting of water, air, rail and road transport. The rhythm and efficiency of all the enterprises of the region and the state of its social sphere depend on the transport system.

In this context, one of the main directions of velayat development is the improvement of the quality of life in rural areas; bring its standards closer to urban ones.

An example of solving local problems in this area was the construction of a pontoon bridge Khalach-Khojambaz across the Amudarya, which is of great social importance for the inhabitants of the right bank, including local tenant farmers of Khojambaz etrap, which now will not have to make a detour to get various resources for the economy . The road running directly through the new bridge is much shorter and more profitable in all respects. One can get much more quickly from the right bank to the nearest Pelwerth railway station on the left bank.

Over the past decade, along with other goals of socio-economic development, Turkmenistan has achieved truly record-breaking progress in the construction and commissioning of unique engineering and transport communications that meet the highest international standards.

This is clearly seen in the example of the eastern region of the country. In March 2017, with the participation of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the commissioning of the supermodern automobile and railway bridges of Turkmenabat-Farab took place.

Earlier, from 2009 to 2016, automobile bridges across the Amudarya were put into operation Atamurat-Kerkichi, Seidi-Eljik, Atamurat-Kerkichi railway bridges with the length of 1,415 meters, 1,400 meters and 1,414 meters, the railway line from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan was put into operation on the route of Atamurat-Ymamnazar-Akina with the length of 88 kilometers.

Today, the effect of the input of these transport communications is noticeable not only in the accelerated socio-economic development of the Lebap velayat, but also in the whole country economy. They also have great geopolitical, economic and social significance for the neighboring countries of Turkmenistan.

Turkmen people considered the construction of bridges and the laying of roads a pious work. The history of bridge construction goes from time immemorial. Its origins are in man's attempts to lay the first stone, stepping on which one can step over the stream ... Then the thought came to "step over" the river. So the bridge always meant for a man the desire for better changes, a striving for creation, a rational transformation of the world. Modern bridges connect not only the coast, but also the epochs, the peoples.

The territory of Central Asia is becoming one of the most important transport and transit nodes of world significance. It is this part of the continent that represents a key element of the configuration of global geo-economics of the present century. Our region is called upon to play in it a connecting, integrating role of the natural corridor of transport communication along the lines "North-South" and "East-West", which will connect Asia and Europe with shortest routes and ensure a reliable and smooth functioning of the whole system of trade and economic transnational cooperation.

The advantages of the geographical location of Turkmenistan at the crossroad of the mainland routes of the continent allow our country to profitably implement the national transport resource to ensure Eurasian ties. Promoting this concept, the leader of the nation emphasizes that the formation of the modern ramified transport and communication system is one of the priorities of the state policy of Turkmenistan aimed at the progressive social and economic development of the country and the establishment of broad regional and international cooperation in the interests of general well-being.
