The traveling exhibition "Energy in Transition – Powering Tomorrow", organized by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany together with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), started its work at the Technology Center of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan.
The exhibition space includes five information boxes equipped with interactive touch panels featuring expert opinions and practices in the field of energy efficiency.
The exhibition highlights the multilevel aspects, challenges and potential of the global energy transition from the perspective of society, politics, economics and science. Visitors can learn about the experience of European countries in the development and implementation of energy saving. They can also immerse themselves in the world of the future using virtual reality glasses.
"This exhibition started three years ago and has already been to Europe, Asia, the Persian Gulf states and Central Asian countries," says project manager Yasmin Deren. "In particular, we presented it in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. We are very glad that the exhibition is now taking place in Turkmenistan, namely in Ashgabat. After Turkmenistan, it will head to Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan."
The energy transition is not a short-term project, but a significant structural change in the energy system based on long-term and innovative commitments and cooperation of all local, national and international stakeholders.
The exhibition aims to engage people in dialogue, exchange knowledge, and share opinions on decarbonization and the global energy transition.
The exhibition is open for visits until June 25, daily except Sunday. After that, the exhibition will continue its work in the city of Mary.
