A seminar on training instructors for customs and other competent authorities of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan was held in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan. Turkmenistan was represented at the seminar by employees of the Training Centre of the State Customs Service, Ashgabat International Airport, and the customs post «Parom Gechelgesi» of the Balkan Velayat Customs.
The event was organized as part of the initiative of the Passenger and Cargo Profiling Group at the Border, which is implemented by the Global Program of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the World Customs Organization for Container Control. The course was aimed at providing expertise in the field of identification and suppression of high-risk shipments.
The next stages of training provide for the selection of candidates based on a questionnaire, after which accreditation tests will be conducted in the first quarter of 2025. Candidates who successfully pass the tests will receive the status of instructors accredited by the WCO.
