Over the years of independence, significant progress has been made in the field of public health protection and the development of the healthcare system. Thanks to the efforts of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, and Arkadagly Hero Serdar, large-scale work is being carried out in our country to utilize the sanatorium-resort potential of Turkmenistan's nature, with new sanatorium complexes being built and existing ones modernized.
Among them is the Mollagara sanatorium, opened in 2012 with the blessing of our Hero-Arkadag. The new buildings of the sanatorium are fully renovated, and visitors are provided with high-quality medical services.
The Mollagara resort is located near the city of Balkanabat, on the eastern shore of the ancient Uzboy, and extends to the foothills of the Great Balkan Mountains. The resort's natural resources include therapeutic mud and mineral water rich in healing salt. The sanatorium complex includes a hospital and a medical-diagnostic building with 500 places, a beauty salon with 35 places, a hotel with 170 places, a medical-rehabilitation building, and a children's department with 30 places. There is also a dining room with 250 places, six dormitories with 123 rooms for sanatorium staff and auxiliary facilities.
In addition to therapeutic mud, the complex is well-known for physiotherapy methods, treatment with cold air streams and high atmospheric pressure, hot Garagum sand, ozone therapy, and inhalation with mineral air. It treats diseases of the nervous system, musculoskeletal system, urogenital organs, and rheumatism.
Regular mud procedures also alleviate ailments such as salt accumulation in knees and joints and inflammatory diseases of the spine. The complex, equipped with modern equipment, offers comprehensive health and rehabilitation activities for people with spinal cord and bone injuries.
Due to the high mineralization of the lake, a person entering it does not sink to the bottom but remains on its surface. In this case, you can lie on the lake's surface, read a newspaper or book, or engage in other activities.
In the National Leader of the Turkmen people's book "Scientific Basis of Healthcare Development in Turkmenistan," the natural healing properties of the Mollagara sanatorium are highly praised.
Meeting international standards, this resort occupies an area of 30 hectares and resembles a small town. The presence of a library, internet cafe, restaurant, shops, amphitheater, beauty salon, pool, bathhouse, sauna, billiard-tennis hall, wellness center, and other amenities positively affects the effectiveness of resort treatment. All are equipped with the most modern equipment. Happy visitors to the sanatorium express their gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan and Hero-Arkadag for the excellent conditions created here.
