Representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan visited the Kingdom of Thailand as part of an exchange visit.
According to the website of Turkmenistan's customs authority, the visit was organized within the framework of the UNODC-WCO Container Control Programme Women's Network and the World Customs Organization.
In addition to female representatives from Turkmenistan, customs officials from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan participated in the exchange visit.
The delegates visited the seaports of Bangkok and Laem Chabang.
Members of the Port Control Units at these seaports introduced the delegates to the ports' operations and demonstrated the use of modern equipment for transportation control.
The participants also visited the Customs Academy in Bangkok, where they met with the director and the teaching staff of the institution.
A meeting with female Thai customs officers also took place at the academy.
The exchange visit aimed to study best practices in the functioning of the Port Control Units in Bangkok and Laem Chabang, risk profiling and targeting, and to facilitate practical interaction within the framework of the CCP Women's Network.
