Celebrations in honor of the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi to be held in Tbilisi

Scientists from the Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, vocalists and musicians from the Turkmen National Conservatory named after Mai Kuliyeva, representatives of music schools from the cities of Arkadag and Mary, journalists, and TV journalists are part of a delegation of creative workers from Turkmenistan that arrived in Tbilisi to participate in the festivities celebrating the 300th anniversary of the classic poet Magtymguly Fragi.

On September 11-12, the Georgian capital will host the opening ceremony of a room dedicated to the eminent poet and thinker of the East, Magtymguly Fragi, at the Sukhumi State University, and the presentation of a collection of his works translated into Georgian. The publication and presentation of Magtymguly Fragi's poems in Georgian will help readers of the friendly country become acquainted with the works of the great poet and philosopher, as well as the rich culture and heritage of the Turkmen people. It will be another valuable contribution to the celebration of the poet's 300th anniversary.

The creative and scientific intelligentsia of Turkmenistan and Georgia are actively developing cultural and humanitarian ties, which contribute to further strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between the two countries and peoples. In April this year, during a visit by the Turkmen delegation led by Allaberdi Ashyrov, the President of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, to Tbilisi, the parties discussed issues related to holding joint events that promote the cultural heritage, ancient values, and national art of the two countries. At that time, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Magtymguly Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan and the Korneli Kekelidze Georgian National Center of Manuscripts for scientific cooperation.
