The State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan has published the latest «Statistical Yearbook of Turkmenistan» in Turkmen, Russian and English.
It contains extensive statistical material characterising the socio-economic development of Turkmenistan for 2007-2023 and the effectiveness of the progressive reforms carried out in the country. The collection contains data on the country's population, its employment, social and living standards, as well as information on national accounts, finances, investment activities, and the state of various sectors of the economy. Some indicators have been clarified based on comparison with previously published data. Methodological explanations for individual indicators are also provided.
The traditional sections of the yearbook present data on industry, agriculture, transport and communications, trade and services, tourism, as well as information related to the social sphere, income and expenses of households, development of education, science, culture, health care, housing and utilities. A general description of enterprises and organizations is given, data on the development of entrepreneurship, privatization and leasing of state property are provided. The new yearbook contains information on innovative activities and information technologies.
The publication of new and updated statistical data is of great importance for assessing the progress achieved by the country in various areas of the economy and social sphere, for planning promising areas of further development. Statistical collections are widely used in their work by scientists, teachers and other specialists. The State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan, which carries out its activities in cooperation with other ministries, industry departments, local executive authorities and self-government bodies, public organizations of the country and international organizations, strives to continuously improve the methods of collecting state statistical reports and statistical information, analysing and summarising statistical information, introducing digital tools and technologies into the work of statistical services.
