Hydrogeological exploration work to find new deposits of underground fresh water and assess their reserves was actively carried out this year by specialists from the Dashoguz Hydrogeological Expedition.

For example, their detailed survey on the territory of the Gorogly etrap, was provided by the need for further uninterrupted supply of high-quality drinking water to residents of the geneshliks "Yagtylyk" and "Yzmykshir". Similar works, which were ultimately intended to contribute to raising the standard of living of the population, were also carried out in the Akdepe etrap.

Detailed report on the study of underground sources for water supply of the population of the administrative center and geneshliks "Oguzhan" and "Ruhnama" of the Ruhubelent etrap, for subsequent analysis of the possibilities of using new water sources and making an appropriate decision, was provided by the expedition team to the state corporation "Turkmengeologiya".

In Turkmenistan, with the aim of fully supplying the population with high-quality drinking water, a number of large-scale national programs are being successfully implemented, including the "General program for providing the settlements of Turkmenistan with clean drinking water". The team of the Dashoguz Hydrogeological Expedition also makes a significant contribution to the successful implementation of these projects every year.

Along with exploration of new deposits, they monitor the quality of mineralization and the level of occurrence of underground waters, work on assessing their exploitation resources, studying physical and chemical properties. In addition, on the basis of contracts, several wells were drilled for various sectors of the national economy. Thus, the expedition team has completed 100.86 percent of the drilling plan for ten months. Among the team's leaders are drilling master Begench Hojaev, first-category hydrogeologist Merdan Garayev, driver Dovran Haytbaev, head of the hydrogeological party Ashyr Toylyev.
