Turkmenistan pays great attention to the development of startups as a powerful innovative resource capable of identifying promising areas of progress and changing the world. To create a national startup ecosystem, international cooperation is being established and best practices in this area are being studied. To this end, the delegation of Turkmenistan, consisting of representatives of the Central Council of the Youth Organisation named after Magtymguly, the International Science and Technology Park of the Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry, the State Medical University named after Myrat Garryyev, and the University of Engineering and Technology named after Oguzhan, took part in a large-scale startup summit, «Take Off Start-up Summit 2024», which was held in Istanbul on 11th to 12th of December. The invitation to the event, organised by the Turkish Tech Team Foundation, was received from the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum, an international non-profit organization uniting leading youth organizations from the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Islamic world as a whole.
The Startup Summit provides an opportunity for OIC countries to meet technology pioneers, pitch their businesses to leading investors, network with experts, and raise their startups to an international level. Its goal is to influence the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the region, lay the foundation for international cooperation to grow startups and improve their competitiveness. It is a platform that helps startups gain visibility and resources to succeed through events, workshops, and networking opportunities.
This year's event will allow startups with innovative products and services to present their ideas that shape the future. The key topics of the Startup Summit 2024 are related to technologies in areas such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, sustainable energy and digital health. The most innovative and ambitious initiatives presented at Take Off Istanbul will have the opportunity to win investments/grants.
Take Off Istanbul has been held since 2018 and brings together entrepreneurs, investors, coaches and activists of the startup ecosystem.
