New challenges in strengthening the analytical and scientific basis of the health system

In accordance with development plans, Turkmenistan is currently developing and systematically strengthening the material and technical base of the health sector, which is so important for the health of the population.

In this regard, only in October of this year in Ashgabat an international health and rehabilitation center and an international scientific and clinical center of physiology were opened. In the near future, the multidisciplinary structure of the country’s health system will be supplemented by an international scientific and clinical oncology centre in the northern part of the capital and three oncological hospitals in the Balkan, Lebap and Mary velayats.

On December 25, at a workshop held during a visit to the capital's Oncology Center under construction, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov announced a number of important tasks, the solution of which will complement the logistical base of the healthcare system, strengthen its legal framework, and give impetus to improving the effectiveness of scientific and information-analytical work.

It was also pointed out, in particular, that it is necessary to create a single intellectual analysis department in the international scientific and clinical Center of oncology under construction, whose activities should meet international standards. It is recommended to select young talented specialists who have successfully graduated from higher educational institutions and are proficient in digital technologies and foreign languages to work in this structure. As Hero Arkadag underlined, the staff of this department must constantly be in search of innovations and responsibly combine their work with scientific developments.

It was also noted that in order to carry out therapeutic measures in the future, it is necessary to obtain specific and reliable information about emerging diseases and treatment methods. The staff of the intellectual analysis department will have to assist in the correct and accurate determination of the diagnosis, organize treatment at the highest level. At the same time it was noted that in order to establish continuous communication for the well-coordinated and effective work of doctors, the importance of combining these healthcare institutions and oncology centers of the velayats into a single intellectual network.

Great importance is attached to the training of specialists with modern scientific knowledge and innovative technologies at the international scientific and educational Center for Healthcare and the establishment of joint work with scientists from the Oguz Khan University of Engineering and Technology. Along with improving the professional level of doctors, disease prevention and improving the quality of diagnostic work on a scientific basis have been identified among the priorities. This is one of the main conditions for effective and high-quality medical care in the country.

For the successful implementation of tasks in this area, it is important to ensure direct contact not only with the country's medical institutions, but also with the world's leading international medical centers. Joining forces will contribute to the introduction of scientific achievements in the field of healthcare, in the activities of higher educational institutions, departmental institutions, and the establishment of effective work in research centers. Speaking about the need to intensify ties with organizations with extensive experience in this or that field of medicine, Hero Arkadag noted that in the case of the construction of an international scientific and clinical Center for oncology, it is necessary to hold consultations with IAEA experts on equipping a new center. In general, work should continue to introduce advanced technologies and international experience into the healthcare system.
