The third meeting of the border agencies of Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran took place at the “Artyk” customs post located on the border of Turkmenistan and Iran.

The Turkmen side was represented by employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, customs, border and migration services, Agencies "Türkmenawtoulaglary" and "Türkmendemirýollary". The Iranian side was represented by the governor of Dargaz, representatives of the “Lutfabad” customs post, the border checkpoint, also employees of the Iranian Embassy in Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, participants discussed possibilities of increasing the capacity and operating time of the crossing points “Artyk” and “Lutfabad”. 

The issues of crossing and illegal movement of goods across customs borders were also considered. In this regard, the expediency of unifying approaches to customs control at checkpoints was noted.
