The International Scientific and Practical Conference «Priority Areas for the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals: Environmental Education and Modern Problems of Environmental Protection» has completed its work at the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly.
The forum was attended by more than 180 professors, teachers and scientists from 74 higher education institutions and research institutes from 24 countries, including Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Belarus, Iran, Türkiye, Germany, Belgium, Romania, India, Japan, Korea, Algeria and other countries.
The conference was held online from 7th to 8th of April. It included a plenary session and three thematic sections: «The Role of Innovative Technologies in the Development of Environmental Education»; «Monitoring the Efficient Use of Water and Land Resources»; «The Main Problems of Studying and Protecting Biological Diversity».
The conference was held to deeply analyse modern environmental issues related to climate change, improve approaches to environmental education, and strengthen international cooperation in the field of scientific research, educational programs on ecology, and training of high-level specialists.
Participants considered the possibilities of creating interactive tools and platforms for training, introducing specialised courses into curricula aimed at the efficient use of natural resources in modern conditions.
At the conference, participants from Turkmenistan and dozens of countries around the world had the opportunity to jointly discuss the results of their scientific research and scientific and methodological work, as well as exchange valuable professional experience.
Following the event, it was emphasised that the forum largely contributed to the study of world experience in the field of ecology and environmental protection, strengthening international cooperation in this area and universal efforts aimed at ensuring environmental well-being on the planet.
